Nervous speakers make people nervous

So says Rev Jesse Jackson ("I can see you naked" by Ron Hoff) .. so what to do? 1. Don't fight it, a little is OK. 2. Take a brisk walk. 3. Wiggle your toes and dangle your arms, twirl your wrists. 4. Relax your shoulders. 5. Breathe deeply. 6. Tell yourself to "let go", relax. 7. Be at ease with having a 'warm-up' routine as in the last Blog.

Being a little nervous is good, it pumps the adrenalin. But too much makes the audience nervous. So reduce, relax and enjoy this time.

Best speaking. Cheers Warren

Nervous of speaking? You need a routine !

Create a Routine before you speak to reduce nervousness. Once created use the same routine each time. Here's one I use. 1. Take a 5 to 10 minute walk. 2. Check out yourself - tie, hair etc in order - feel confident you look your best - remove pens from pockets and any jewellery that could distract, go to the toilet. 3. Deep breathe. 4. Ask .. why am I here today, what's my objective? 5. Speak to someone, shake hands, say hello.

Now your nerves will be reduced. Best speaking, Regards Warren
